Starting School at Our Lady's
Welcome to Our Lady's Catholic Primary School
We look forward to welcoming you and your child as they start their school journey with us at Our Lady's. Below you will will find some useful information about starting at Our Lady's and some ideas on supporting your child with the transition. We can't wait for you to join our family and to begin our exciting adventure together.
Joining our School midyear or in Years 1 - 6
We warmly welcome any perspective families to come and visit our school and see us in action during the school day. It is important that you all feel Our Lady's is the school for you and you have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
Once you have made your decision, you will need to apply for a school place through Warwickshire County Council. If a place is offered and accepted, please contact the school office and we will arrange for a start date for your child and ask you to fill in any relevant forms. We will always accommodate another show round for you and your child, at this stage, if necessary.
On your child's first day they should come up to the main school office where they will be greeted by a member of staff and shown to their classroom. They will be assigned a buddy to help them to settle in and get to know the school routines. You will then have the opportunity to ask those last minute questions and we can ensure we have all the relevant documents we need for your child to start. You will pick your child up from the classroom door at the end of the day.
To help keep you informed you will be asked to download the ClassDojo app and we will link you to your child's class page. Here you will get regular updates and important information as well as being able to message your child's class teacher.
New to Nursery or Reception in September
We hold regular open mornings for perspective families. You will be greeted by our Head Boy and Head Girl and given a tour of our school. There will be the opportunity to meet staff, ask questions, engage in play activities with your child and enjoy a drink and a biscuit. If you are unable to make one of the open mornings then please contact the school and we will be happy to arrange a time for you to visit.
